Located on a side street near the Opera, Morrisons is still a cool place to hang out after all these years. The first room is a pub with a long bar counter containing a red, British-style phone box (the bar's catchy trademark) as well as other bits and pieces.

The bartenders are friendly and the drinks are sold at moderate prices. The next room has a few tables (in case you don't like hanging around the bar) and it leads to the dance floor which frankly could be bigger, considering how packed it can get.

Or, if you choose, you could sit in the 'chill-out room', which contains nine TV sets stacked on top of each other.

Located on a square not far from the ring road, Nincs Pardon has been around for ages. This cellar bar has something of a bohemian atmosphere, which attracts both locals and fairly naturalised ex-pats. The interior is pretty rustic, especially in the middle room which has big speakers hanging from the ceiling. This is, of course, where the dancing takes place--usually only after midnight as the place tends to stay open quite late. On weeknights there is also live music.

This café and music club sits next to the Muvesz cinema on Terez Korut. It is designed to recreate the atmosphere of the Emir Kusturica movie of the same name.

The difference is that you take the stairs instead of the lift into the cellar, which is decked out with big, built-in factory fans and industrial-type lamps hanging from the ceiling. Sunday through Tuesday is rather quiet with ambient music in the background; but weekends are reserved for 'underfunk' with local DJ's on turntables and a fairly young crowd.
