A new book out about girls and violence links unprecedented violence between them - the rate of aggravated assault among girls and younger women increased 57% between 1990 and 1998 - directly to equally unprecedented hyper sexuality. The book shows such trends as the less savory outcome of freeing girls to excel beyond gender stereotypes.
The same cultural shifts that have allowed young women to play sports, become mathematicians and enter into politics now come with an increase in "social toxicity," which is defined as "spirit-deadening superficial materialism, reduced benevolent adult authority and supervision, civic cynicism, and fragmentation of community."
In other words: SPRING BREAK SEX.
Spring Break: The time of school year where college aged young adults and some high school students (In March or April) descend upon vacation resorts such as Cabo, Cancun, Miami, and other sunny locales which usually results in hangovers, a burning sensation when urinating, strange discharge coming from various orifices, hot pictures, and great memories!
Girls of Spring Break
Spring break is a time when females (who have felt locked away for many winter months) suddenly seem to do all the forbidden things that, all year they have thought about, fantasized about, held in, held back and kept leashed until they're drunk in the sun with everyone around them half naked.
All the destinations have the same thing in common: Warm and tropical, half naked people and tons of cheap booze. It is not all about getting a suntan after being cooped up all winter studying minutia and ridiculous rhetoric about slavery and the holocaust.
Nnooooo! If it were all about getting a suntan they could save their money and stay home and sunbathe in the back yard or on the roof deck.
The sun is the host of the party to breakers from all points on the compass. Students, partiers, players and pimps come from New York and Seattle and even Ann Arbor with one small suitcase and not one book.
All these spring breakers need to get away from all that is regimented, tested, graded, evaluated, judged or compared. School is out and it is time to party. The warm sun stays up so many hours of the day warming the faces, bodies and the sand that they play on, acting as the only chaperone to this tropical orgy prom.
The locals have seen the new meat come and go each year in their beach towns as they make money from promoting certain bars and selling them their drugs of choice. It is with these conveniences and no supervision the children of the sun live for two weeks in the Garden of Eden.
Role Reversal
This period is the time when girls of all walks of life and of all ages throw away prudence and set free the wild girl inside her - seeking out the prey to which she will take back to the bungalow or shared hotel room for a game of romper room. You see in the real world at bars and such, the girl gets drunk and all the guys try to take advantage of her and try to get her to go home with them. On spring break nobody gets drunker than the guys.
Even the drunkest chick in the room will have enough strength to hold back the hair of the drunkest vomiting guy. Which means while these guys are getting super drunk watching chicks flash their tits all day the girls get drunk a little later and just take their pick - as if the guy is going to remember anyway (I am jealous these chicks are hot).
This is the rite of passage for many young women who have not really "explored" sexually. On spring break it is not uncommon for a girl who has not had sex in months to have multiple partners in the same week during vacation (sweet!).

The best part about spring break is: Not only will girls do things with boys they have not done, but they might do them with girls too.
