Being quite the hair removal connoisseur, I was thrilled when my editor approached me with this assignment. I'm quite fond of "snatch-scaping," and feel icky if more than three weeks pass between visits to my waxer. And while I usually leave this sort of thing to the professionals, this handy little kit was too just too fabulous to turn down.
A cute little drawstring pouch holds a bottle of Coochy shave cream, four Sex Symbol stencils, a Just Kittyng comb and a set of mini scissors. Everything I needed to get the job done, aside from the razor.
After careful deliberation, I decided to try the heart-shaped stencil. They offer other lovely choices – arrows, stars, tulips, x's and lightning bolts - but the heart looked the least challenging for a beginner such as myself. After a good trim, I put the stencil in place and slathered a generous application of the shave cream over my skin. I was immediately impressed by the creamy consistency and fresh scent.
From beginning to end the process took about 45 minutes, mainly because I was being meticulous in following the stencil. In the end, I was pleased with the result. It looked just as good as my waxers work, the only pitfall being that it grew back much quicker because it was just a shave. The surrounding skin was also surprisingly smooth, with not a bump in sight. That Coochy shave cream is good stuff!
Since I had so much success with the heart shape, I decided to wait a few weeks and try out a few more shapes. The star didn’t go quite as well because the stencil was a lot harder to maneuver, and the razor didn’t fit in all of the angles. Even after removing the stencil and trying to clean it up on my own, it still didn’t look right. This one is definitely for someone with patience and a steady hand. I would also recommend using a bikini line razor, which is better for shaving angles than the regular size I was using.
Of all the stencils, my favorite was the lightning bolt (insert Harry Potter joke here!) which is pretty much just lines and sharp angles. This one took the least amount of time and looked amazing when I was done.
I really like this product and would definitely use it again. Just make sure you're using a new razor so your edges are as clean as possible. And an added perk: the Just Kittyng scissors are awesome for trimming eyebrows - though I'd recommend you rinse them off first!
