Ladies I am a "player". So before you ask me, 'are you a player?', consider this:
I have been sent to you not to sleep with you, but to help you recognize me when you see me. I want to help you sift me out, so you don't waste your time on me or give me your virtue that, trust me, I don't deserve. Most women don't recognize me because I hide behind the things you love the most, romance. Don't forget I am a player so I must have an ulterior motive for helping you.
The Mask of Love
The player is the master of bedding girls and not getting bedded down. This is the first clue to look for in your "suitor". If he is handsome, charming and extremely attentive then how did he get loose from the clutches of the last girl?
I will tell you - he is handsome, charming and attentive until he gets what he wants and then he is just a "dick". So remember this tagline first, "the candle that burns at both ends burns twice as bright but will burn out twice as fast. If your emotions are fueled higher than normal because of those qualities then make sure they are lasting ones. He will come off initially as ultra great, too good to be true, but who isn't when they first capture our attention?
Does he call you at random to surprise you yet he never answers his phone when you surprise him? Playa! That is slang for player and he is one if he does this often.
The player likes to plan the calls himself. If he is really an active guy, then he won't have his phone on when he's "playin" and would not answer it if he was. The player will also be late, forget important dates and sometimes act like a completely different person out of the blue. These are signs of player overload. He is keeping such a busy personal and professional schedule he can't keep up and will even forget things he has said or told you.
Player Two
This is you, sister! It is time to step up and play your best game to either sift him out as real or elimidate his ass for good. First, never say yes right away to his request for a date! If you think he is a player then he will want to make sure the pipeline is full for the weekend (I score my sex action during the week). If he asks you for a date, ask him if you can tell him your answer in a couple of days. If he can't wait or won't wait, don't make him, blow him off. If he does wait and you call at the last minute to confirm, he might actually like you.
Don't let him be cheap. If he asks you out, takes you some place "quick" and then wants to "hang out" then he is a lazy player. I used to call girls at 9pm on a Friday night - I knew if they were home then, they had no plan. I would say, let's go grab a drink which we would not get to until 10pm, I would start late to save money on drinks and food and then go for the kill because I knew she was lonely.
If he pulls the lazy player act, then blow his mind. Say, "You can go hang out, I think I am going to go out later with my girlfriend and go dancing". You will know right then what his investment is, if he takes you dancing and springs for it, maybe he is cool. If he says screw that and tries to take you home, you can bet a months pay he will put the moves on you as soon as he drops you off. He had only one thing on his mind to begin with; his behavior won't change unless he knows he will get it.
Lock it Up
That little triangle you girls have south of the border is why we do what we do to begin with. Lock that kitty cat up and don't give it up to just anyone. The pussy is like a bank and players are like skilled robbers. Your sex is their main and only goal. If you know this, "own it". Use it to your advantage. If he is a player, that gives you a free pass to be a "tease". Not just any "tease" but a "cocktease". This is the equivalent counterpart to the player. A trained cocktease is the Player's nemesis. She acts like he does by showering her partner with attention when they really need it, but no sex when he really wants it.
The ultimate kybosh when you're certain he is a playa:
He asks you out on Tuesday for Thursday. You call Thursday to confirm. He takes you to a cheap place and keeps acting "sexual". You go to the ladies room and call a friend to call you in 5 minutes. You answer her call at the table, laugh and say, "Okay, that sounds fun; I will call you back in about an hour".
He will now squirm to keep the date going, or go with you. Suggest something either costly or spontaneous. If he bites at either one, go with him and tell your girlfriends to show up and save you at the last minute. After you ditch him, call him the next day and tell him you had a great time and would love to do it again. The real cream will rise to the top. If he passed all these tests and he is not a player, you are in some series debt with that kitty cat of yours.
The key to beating the player at his game is recognizing the short term overzealous behavior that we spew out on a regular basis under the guise of love, romance and courting. Love, romance and courting are unselfish and patient.
Qualities a player can not even spell.
